Jerry Kristafer's broadcasting career began while he was in high school back home in "Pig's Eye", South Jersey. After a year of college, he hit the road working at radio stations in Atlantic City and Lakewood, NJ.  Then stops in Indianapolis and Pittsburgh (twice), before he moved to CT. Jerry  spent 4 years in New Haven. That was followed by almost 17 years in Hartford --- more than 15 on DRC-FM.  After almost 10 years back in New Haven hosting a morning news/talk program, Jerry was offered the opportunity to return to Hartford as host of the Big D Morning Show. Jerry is currently in his 18th year waking up Greater Hartford morning radio listeners.
 

Jerry has been honored by dozens of charitable agencies & civic organizations form all across the state for his dedication to community service during his nearly 33 years on the air here in CT.
 
He has two sons; the younger one attends CCSU, the older one is married . "Papa Jerry" has two granddaughters and a grandson.
 
Jerry has never tested positive for HGH or anabolic steroids.
