Grahame took over the night shift when Mike Stevens decided to wake up early to join Jerry Kristafer on the Big D Morning Show...so go to sleep with her and wake up with Jerry and Mike! (That doesn't sound right...but you know what we mean!)
Weeknights beginning at 7 as your “Hostess with the Mostess,” Grahame gets your party (or your second shift job!) going with the Big D 80's at 8, the Big D Top 9 at 9, the 10 o'clock Twin Spins and a night-full of Good Time Rock n’ Roll from the 60's, 70's and 80's guaranteed to send you into fits of bad-fad dancing! We’re taking your requests and dedications via email at gwinters@drcfm.com.
Grahame does double-duty at The Big D, working daylight hours as the PD of The Big D and then providing the perfect soundtrack to your evening Monday through Friday, from 7 to midnight and again following Joe Johnson's Beatle Brunch, Sundays from 8 til 1. Grahame's a modern day mom, juggling work and kids - she's very active with her children's elementary school and president of the PTA (no, we're not kidding). She's also a Daisy Scout Leader, a member of the Public Relations Advisory Board for Foodshare of Greater Hartford, a freelance journalist for a local paper and a taxi for her children. Now you understand how weeknights at the Big D fit in to the picture...she never sleeps!
More About Grahame:
Grahame Winters’ radio career started at the age of 3 when asked “What does Christmas mean to you?” on a commercial recording for a gift shop in Rocky Mount NC. Her answer was so profound (“presents…and Santa…and gifts”) that Grahame became an instant child star in the voiceover community, lending her dulcet tones to national commercials for Levi’s and The Gap, to New York radio commercials for The Rockettes Christmas Show and Boston PBS’ “Zoom” TV series. Unlike most troubled child stars from her era, as Grahame matured her voice (and her mind) never did, and she was able to continue her lucrative career in radio into adulthood, which, outside of working in a tiny 4 x5 gas booth at a Dairy Mart, a one day career at Bess Eaton donuts (where she was fired for throwing coffee at a patron) and a three year stint announcing couples skates at a roller skating rink, is the only profession this former child star has ever known. Grahame has called “The D” home since 1992 and loves her dysfunctional radio family so much it hurts.
